Education & Experience
- Minimum of High School diploma, or IT data certification, plus three (3) years IT experience required, including collecting, processing, and analyzing data
- Associate’s degree in data sciences, or related field, plus two (2) years IT experience required, including collecting, processing, and analyzing data
- Bachelor’s degree in data sciences, or related field, plus one (1) year IT experience required, including collecting, processing, and analyzing data
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience of database system design, concepts and best practices
- Demonstrated progressive work experience in data management systems
- Demonstrated successful project management experience
- Familiarity or experience with the workings of a nonprofit organization and communications programs preferable
- Experience and proficiency in data warehouse administration
- Knowledge and experience with Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) Tools
- Knowledge and experience with Data Visualization software such as Tableau or Power BI
- Experience and knowledge of setting and administering security within a data warehouse
Position Specific
Data Infrastructure Architecture
- Support the front-end design and future-state data management framework based on the organization's needs.
- Support the definition of data standards, governance principles, metadata structure, and quality controls.
- Help translate business and compliance requirements into scalable data architecture specifications.
- Create comprehensive data migration diagrams to define what data should be moved, how it will be transferred, and where it will reside.
- Aide in data mapping, transformation logic, retention parameters (e.g., length/age of data), and interface specifications in collaboration with business users and technical teams.
- Help establish protocols for data movement and lineage across systems.
- Define, build, and optimize ETL pipelines to extract, transform, and load large volumes of structured and unstructured data from multiple systems (e.g., EHRs, CRMs, social care platforms).
- Manage API-based data exchanges and automated workflows that support interoperability.
- Collaborate with software vendors and internal teams to ensure secure and compliant data transfer.
- Initiate conceptual and logical data model design under the direction of the Data Infrastructure Architect.
- Ensure that data structures support organizational analytics, reporting, and operational use cases.
- Design, construct, and oversee data warehouse architecture, including multidimensional models and relational databases.
- Define and enforce standards for query optimization, access control, and data security.
- Provide ongoing support and training to staff, fostering partnership between Information Technology and all other aspects of the organization
- Serve as lead point of contact for data warehouse/ETL/Data visualization systems and takes charge of all aspects of project management.
- Takes lead on all augmentation/cleanup of existing data sources and ensures data is fresh, current and as enhanced as possible to ensure the most effective use of all the information available.
- Appropriately manage and prioritize special projects/requests from agency leaders
- Provides support for other tasks, as assigned.
- Performs all duties in a manner consistent with the principles and values of agency, while adhering to applicable professional codes of ethics, the agency’s policies and procedures, contractor requirements, and regulatory requirements.
- Model and communicate appropriate positive attitudes toward the agency’s Mission, Vision, and Values
- Work collaboratively with all agency programs and staff to provide support as needed
- Utilize and maintain calendar with all work-related details in order to manage time effectively and share calendar information with coworkers
- Participate in on-going training to expand and develop professional skills
- Perform other duties as necessary for the agency, as assigned
