About the Job
Summary
Under the general supervision of HIS Management maintains the integrity of both the Document Imaging System (Onbase) as well Brown University Health 's Electronic Medical Record (Lifechart) Serves as the data integrity system coordinator and oversees daily activities associated with the medical records imaging system (Onbase ) and the Electronic Medical Record by ensuring that medical records needed for patient care billing administrative functions medico legal activities and research are processed expeditiously.
Responsibilities
Monitors and resolves any issues on the HIM interface error queue for all Brown University Health affiliates and report discrepancies to appropriate individual(s) or Department(s)
Resolves Imaging (OnBase) Indexing discrepancies for all Brown University Health affiliates.
Communicates backlogs and potential workflow problems to the Imaging System Administrator in a timely manner.
Provides assistance such as trouble shooting problems impacting data quality to end users within ancillary departments such as Softlab Heart Station and Radiology as well as end users on Inpatient Units.
Assist the Imaging System Administrator with in-service and development of educational materials for the Imaging system.
Ensures staff are apprised of changes in systems and processes and ensures adherence to quality and confidentiality standards.
Functions as the expert resource in how to use various systems and provides a communication link between the end users and management.
Assist in planning and testing interfaces among systems.
Prepare scan and index medical record documents as needed.
Monitors reports for patients with observation services to calculate and adjust billable observation hours accordingly.
Performs verification and activities to ensure accurate and complete merges or patient contact moves completed by Data Integrity for all Brown University Health affiliates have occurred correctly in the OnBase Imaging System Patient Financial Services and associated ancillary systems.
Corrects thru Event Management admission/discharge date and times for overlapping appointments on failed merges.
Research and corrects erroneous admit/discharge times for Coding Data Integrity and Registration.
Research and corrects patient statuses and/or adds ADT missing beds for Patient Financial Services.
Other Information
Perform other related duties as required.
Basic Knowledge
2 or more years of college in computer science or a related field required.
A combination of computer related technical training and successively increasing information management responsibility.
Experience
2 years of experience as a work leader or supervisor in a medical record department in a health care facility.
Epic Training for Identity (Data Integrity)
OnBase Certification Preferred
Work is performed in typical office environment requiring extensive sitting walking and standing.
