The individual in this role will support services and work in the field throughout South Central Kansas. Employees will travel to our Ideatek office located at: 111 Old Mill Lane Buhler, Kansas for training, meetings and equipment.

Key Responsibilities
- Perform splicing of fiber optic cables in various outdoor conditions.
- Maintain a thorough knowledge of and accurately update splicing schematics and spreadsheets.
- Take precise splicing and field notes to ensure project timelines are met.
- Demonstrate a working knowledge of both aerial and underground fiber network infrastructure.
- Provide an exceptional experience to customers by being friendly, patient, efficient
- Complete fiber to the home (FTTH) installations and repairs for residential and business customers.
- Install drops from the service terminal to the customer's home or business.
- Effectively troubleshoot and resolve customer connection problems.
- Install and repair VoIP services for both residential and business clients.
- Work independently to handle installation and repair tasks from start to finish.
- A strong aptitude for learning and a desire to grow your skills and knowledge.
- A self-motivated and proactive approach to your work. Must be able to work independently with minimal direction (at completion of training period)
- A high level of attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
- A strong sense of urgency and dedication to following through on all tasks.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- The ability to adapt to shifting priorities in a dynamic work environment.
- Demonstrates a strong safety focus and consistently maintains safety measures.
- Comply with DOT safety and operational standards.
- 2+ years of relevant work experience.
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license with no restrictions.
- Comfortable and able to work in both underground and aerial environments (e.g., climbing ladders up to 32ft and operating a bucket truck).
- Ability to differentiate colors.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Must be able to lift up to 80 lbs.
- Able to enter and safely operate a bucket truck with a weight limit of 300 lbs.
- Must have a flexible schedule with the ability to work on Saturdays and/or Sundays.
- Ability to participate in an on-call rotation, which includes nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Successful completion of DOT physical.
- Prior experience in telecommunications
