Position Summary
Supports maintenance shop by assisting mechanics with tasks, maintaining cleanliness of shop and equipment and helps with shop organization. Abides by Company Safety Program and Policies, while performing duties safely. Reliable attendance required.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Assists shop mechanics with daily tasks as required.
Cleans and maintains maintenance facilities and areas according to established company standards.
Washes and details company equipment.
Helps organize both the shop and shop yard on a regular basis.
After sufficient training and certification, may operate a fork-lift around the shop and shop yard.
Operates company motor vehicles and construction equipment, including high-lift trucks such as forklifts, backhoes, front-end loaders, skid loaders or skid-steer loaders.
Operates handheld power tools.
Observes and practices safety standards and policies of the department and adheres to safety standards established by the company.
Meets the obligations under the Workplace Health and Safety Act and the Environmental Protection Act.
Other duties as assigned.
Education and/or Experience:
Candidate is required to meet the above qualifications, task frequency and PPE requirements. Approval of pre-employment reference & background checks, and post offer drug/alcohol testing with fit for employment screening (if required) are required as conditions of employment.

Education and/or Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED; and
- some experience in a shop environment; or
- equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Certification in related program from technical school preferred.
- Valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
- Under guidance and supervision have the ability to operate hand tools.
- Must be able to secure equipment and product, loading and unloading product and cleaning the truck box as directed.
- Ability to problem solve.
- Must be able to work according to seasonal and order demand schedule.
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
- Able to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
- Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 55 pounds.
