Duties Description
Office Assistant 1 - Stores/Mail receive, pick-up, deliver, open, record, time stamp, sort and deliver mail, goods, materials and stores. Maintain various listings for mail purposes, process outgoing mail by applying correct postage, may operate a motor vehicle to deliver and pick up mail. Maintain files, materials, records, documents, correspondences and stores pursuant to guidelines.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
At a future date (within one year of permanent appointment), it is expected employees hired under NY HELPS will have their non-competitive employment status converted to competitive status, without having to complete in an examination. Employees will then be afforded with all of the same rights and privileges of competitive class employees of New York State. While serving permanently in a NY HELPS title, employees may take part in any promotion examination for which they are qualified. Candidates must be able to read, write and speak English and must be able to follow both written and spoken instructions.
