The Payroll Analyst is responsible for the administration, analysis, and technical oversight of enterprise payroll systems. This role provides support for payroll issues across multiple geographies and is heavily involved in payroll system integrations, reporting, compliance monitoring, and project execution. The ideal candidate combines strong payroll operations knowledge with advanced technical skills, ensuring system integrity, and operational efficiency. In addition, this role will collaborate with internal departments, including HR, finance, and operations teams, to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements while maintaining the confidentiality of sensitive employee information. Performs a variety of functions relating to payroll accounting and solves discrepancies. May act as liaison between payroll and systems to ensure documentation of system functions and capabilities and to facilitate the training of payroll staff and leaders in the use of the automated system.
Responsibilities
Serve as a system administrator for UKG Pro, UKG WFM Pro, and CloudApper, managing configurations, user roles, workflows, data mapping, and device management.
Provide technical payroll support and act as an escalation point for system and processing issues across U.S. and international business units.
Utilize our case management platform Dovetail to assign, document, and resolve payroll-related service tickets, maintaining compliance with SLA targets.
Develop, optimize, and maintain payroll and labor cost reports using system-native reporting tools to support operational functions including HR, R&D, Nursery, and Distribution.
Payroll Processing: Utilize UKG products (such as UKG Pro, UKG WFM Pro) to process end-to-end payroll for seasonal and year-round pay groups for U.S. locations, including data entry, calculations, deductions, and generating pay slips.
Record Maintenance: Accurately maintain employee payroll records, ensuring all information is up-to-date and securely stored. Handle confidential employee data with the utmost sensitivity and maintain data integrity.
Administer and support system integrations with third-party platforms such as Workday HCM, Oracle Financials, Fidelity, and benefits vendors, ensuring secure and accurate data flow and resolving interface errors in real time.
Understanding setup features, work rules, pay rules, filters, hyper, queries and end user requirements. Act as a subject matter expert for UKG products, maintaining system configurations, performing regular updates, and troubleshooting any technical issues that may arise.
Perform regular audits and reconciliations to ensure accurate payroll processing. Investigate and resolve any discrepancies or issues identified during the weekly payroll cycle. Assist with payroll audits from outside vendors including Workers Comp, Social Compliance, and Union.
Accounting support for department managers with budget, forecast discrepancies and provide resolutions.
Coordinate and perform various weekly payroll duties, email requests and VOE’s, exporting and filing payroll registers, journal entries. Remit funding request for payroll deductions taken from payroll including 401k, Union Pension, FSA/HSA.
Participate in payroll-related technology projects, including ERP boundary configuration, platform upgrades, new module implementations, and system enhancements, performing functional testing, validation, and user training.
Training and Mentoring: Assist in training and mentoring front line leaders.
Share expertise in UKG products and releases.
Create and maintain detailed Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), interface maps, and configuration documentation to support business continuity and training initiatives.
Provide reports to various departments, vendors, and government agencies. Process accurate and timely year-end reporting when necessary.
Candidate Profile
- Able to work onsite 4 days a week. One day remote.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- 3+ years in payroll operations or payroll system administration in a corporate or shared services environment.
- Bilingual English/Spanish is required.
- CPP certification is a plus.

Salary range estimated for this role is: $69,578.00 - $88,000.00 Annual (Hourly role. Salary estimated based on 40 hours a week)
