As an Associate Industrial Designer, you will be supporting the Product Development and Industrial Design team by creating, editing, and managing 3D CAD models and 2D technical drawings of flooring tools and related consumer products under the QEP portfolio of brands.

As an Associate Industrial Designer, you will be supporting the Product Development and Industrial Design team by creating, editing, and managing 3D CAD models and 2D technical drawings of flooring tools and related consumer products under the QEP portfolio of brands.
What You Will Be Doing
- Create detailed, photorealistic 3D models and 2D drawings using SolidWorks.
- Convert 2D drawings and hand sketches into accurate and manufacturable 3D CAD models.
- Revise and update SolidWorks files and associated documentation based on design changes or feedback.
- Collaborate closely with designers, product managers, and engineers to meet design intent and technical specifications.
- Maintain an organized database of CAD files and ensure documentation is current and accessible.
- Work cross-functionally with other departments to support design projects.
- Identify and troubleshoot design challenges during the development phase.
- Provide technical input and CAD-related support to the broader Product Development team.

- Associate’s degree in mechanical design technology, CAD Technology, or related field; or a relevant technical diploma or certification from a vocational or technical school. Bachelor’s degree is a plus.
- Minimum 2 years of professional experience as a SolidWorks Designer or Industrial Designer using SolidWorks CAD software; advanced surfacing skills a plus.
- Experience with 3D printing and rapid prototyping technologies is a plus.
- Background in consumer product design is preferred.
- Understanding of common manufacturing processes (e.g., injection molding, stamping, machining, assembly).
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal; experience presenting in design reviews is a plus.
- Ability to work independently as well as in a collaborative team environment.
- Flexible and adaptable to shifting priorities in a fast-paced development cycle.
- Personal interest or experience in home improvement or DIY projects is a plus.
