About the Job

This is a dual property position and oversight over the Hilton Garden Inn Grapevine and TownePlace Suites DFW Airport/Irving.

Purpose for the Position: Direct, manage, and supervise the hotel's sales effort, including developing new accounts, directing promotional projects and hotel advertising and Internet marketing, and maintaining current accounts. Supervise Sales Department personnel. Implement the Sales Department Plan to maximize hotel profits while maintaining customer satisfaction.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Supervises sales staff and day-to-day department operations (i.e., hiring, terminating, disciplinary actions, performance evaluations, training, and development). Monitors quality and productivity of sales & catering efforts, maximizing resources and profitability.
  • Meets with and maintains rapport with clients and contacts to produce group/convention business.
  • Establishes and maintains good rapport with the Convention Center, Chamber of Commerce, and other area businesses.
  • Establishes, updates and implements Hotel Marketing Plan. (Market Plan to be in place by December 15th each year.) Ensures sales activities meet or exceed Plan.
  • Enforces hotel and department related policies and procedures.
  • Completes a minimum of two local concentrated sales efforts annually. Participates in the area Convention and Visitors Bureau’s Annual Regional blitzes.
  • Supervises outside sales efforts and calls made, as well as new account development.
  • Develops marketing projects and promotions specifically designed to impact room sales and catering/banquet sales. Develops marketing strategies and monitors marketing budget.
  • Attends daily Yield Management meetings and monthly meetings with the Director of Operations, Sales, and Front Office staff.
  • Conducts weekly sales meetings

Note: Other duties as assigned by supervisor or management.

Specific Vocational Preparation: High school diploma or an equivalent occupationally significant combination of vocational education, apprentice training, in-plant training, on-the-job training, or essential experience in less responsible jobs. Previous experience of 4 to 10 years preferred. Hilton & Marriott experience preferred.
