Job Overview

Gulf Coast Industrial is looking for an experienced and results-driven Project Manager to oversee complex mechanical construction projects across chemical processing, refinery, and energy-generation sectors. This full-time, union-based role is ideal for a leader who excels in coordinating high-risk, high-precision projects in safety-sensitive industrial environments. You'll manage every phase from pre-planning to commissioning, ensuring budget, schedule, and safety targets are met.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the full lifecycle of mechanical projects, including process piping, rigging, equipment installation, and pressure system work.
  • Lead union craft labor in alignment with local agreements and project schedules.
  • Collaborate directly with clients, engineers, estimators, and field leadership to ensure seamless execution.
  • Create and manage budgets, material procurement plans, and project schedules.
  • Solve field-level challenges and technical issues in real-time to avoid delays.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, PSM, and site-specific safety protocols.
  • Oversee change orders, RFIs, submittals, turnover documentation, and project reporting.
  • Facilitate project commissioning and final client handoff with documentation and QA/QC.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of project management experience in industrial mechanical construction (chemical/refinery/energy facilities).
  • Advanced knowledge of piping systems, mechanical equipment, and structural supports.
  • Prior experience managing union trades in a field setting.
  • Deep familiarity with safety-sensitive environments—confined space, hot work, hazardous materials.
  • Proficient in Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project, cost tracking, and construction documentation.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and client-facing skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred.

Schedule

  • Full-Time - Monday to Friday
