This supervisory position is responsible for the planning, direction and monitoring of all aspects of the Primavera’s Workforce Development Programs. Requires involvement in program budgeting, program reporting, scheduling of program activities, and ensuring adherence to applicable standards.
Responsibilities
Duties and Responsibilities (Work assignments may vary depending on the department’s needs and will be communicated to the applicant or incumbent by the supervisor):
- Oversee the overall operations of Primavera Works including existing services and implementation of new ones.
- Supervise, train, and evaluate Job Coaches, Water Harvesting Coordinator, Employment Specialist and Dispatch Service Specialist to include field supervision when necessary.
- Provide Job Coaches with on-going support with duties in office and in the field as needed.
- Focus on business development by establishing and maintain partnerships with other organizations, area businesses, city and county personnel, to the benefit of the Works program.
- Develop marketing strategies to bring in new business and customers to Primavera Works
- Supervise, train, and give regular feedback to Works volunteers.
- Monitor program effectiveness and results.
- Prepare, administer, and monitor the Works’ budget.
- Facilitate communication among all Primavera departments regarding pertinent program information.
- Ensure proper data management for all Workforce Development programs.
- Prepare and submit reports as required by funding sources.
- Ensure enforcement of all Department of Labor regulations as applicable to the Works program.
- Maintain regular communication with finance department on collections from late accounts
- Responsible for processing payroll for staffing service
- Review billing rates and make recommendations for adjustments on a yearly basis.
- Ensure proper investigation and documentation of worker comp claims.
- Enforce and assist with updates of Primavera Works policies and procedures.
- Ensure vehicles and equipment are properly repaired and maintained in safe operating condition.
- Represent Works at funder meeting or other meetings as related to the program as scheduled.
- Assign caseloads to employment specialists to best meet the needs of program participants.
- Ensure participant files are properly maintained, meeting grant and confidentiality requirements.
- Ensure individual service plans are developed and implemented for all appropriate participants.
- Ensure adherence to all contractual agreements related to Primavera Works.
- Perform other related duties as requested by supervisor.
- Ability to organize and prioritize work, perform multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and coordinate work efforts with other staff members.
- Knowledge of homeless services and issues.
- Ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
- Knowledge of labor laws and workers compensation.
- Knowledge of temporary staffing practices and operations
- Knowledge of Microsoft professional office (at a minimum: Word, Excel, Access).
- Ability to facilitate, mediate and lead groups and individuals.
- Ability to plan, prepare, coordinate, and carry out assigned projects and administrative functions.
- Skill in providing effective leadership including the ability to motivate staff and create a positive work environment.
- Effective oral and written communications skills.
- A Bachelor’s degree in business, education, social work or related field.
- Two years experience with supervision of staff.
- Two years experience with low-income and homeless issues and programs.
- An equivalent combination of related experience, education, and training which would be equivalent to the above qualifications.
- Must possess a valid Arizona driver’s license, and when using personal vehicle for Primavera business, vehicular insurance in compliance with applicable state statutes.
- Must carry a cell phone.
