Radiology Technologist - PRN - Chesterfield Valley Urgent Care

Performs radiographic procedures at a technical level not requiring constant supervision of technical detail. They also perform a variety of technical procedures that will require independent judgment with ingenuity and initiative to apply prescribed ionizing radiation for radiologic diagnosis; assumes responsibility for designated areas of procedures as required, acts as Secretary when not taking x-rays. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission and values.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: % of Time Spent
Performs radiographic procedures on patients in the Urgent Care Center (UCC). Follows established protocols and procedures and maintaining organizational standards. Documents and communicates results as per UCC policies. 15%
- Performs secretarial functions which may include but not limited to: 30%
a. Greets patients, families and other visitors in a pleasant, friendly manner
b. Provides general directions to those customers who inquire within the building or to the local surrounding area.
c. Organizes and maintains patient waiting room and brochure racks
d. Answers and manages telephone calls within 3-4 rings.
e. Identify patients that need to be seen by the Physician or Nurse Practitioner immediately.
f. Obtains authorizations from employers for each occupational health patient.
g. Completes registration in multiple computer applications for both UCC and occupational health patients.
h. Provides "bedside" registration as required.
i. Completes disposition of patient charts.
j. Copies chart for transfer/makes calls as needed.
k. Prepare, maintains and dispositions UCC and occupational health medical records.
l. Provides follow up correspondence for occupational health.
m. Communicates daily census.
n. Orders office supplies.
o. Handles "lost and found' items.
p. Sorts and distributes incoming mail
q. Provides information to billing office as needed.
r. Collects Quality Management data per Nurse Manager.
s. Locates archived medical records for occupational health.
t . Files, maintains and organizes medical records for specified time frame.
u. Collects totals and reconciles Co-Pays for both UCC and occupational health patients.
v. Maintains and reconciles petty cash drawer.
w. Totals and submits deposits to hospital cashiers office daily.
Delivers and assists in direct patient care to include but not limited to obtaining and documenting vital signs and electrocardiograms. 40%
Assists and demonstrates proficiency in performing lab functions for UCC and occupational health patients. 10%

High School Diploma, graduate of an AMA approved School of Radiology Technology. Must hold a current American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (A.R.R.T) registration. Must meet continuing education requirements as mandated by A.R.R.T. Must have minimum 1 year clinical experience. Must maintain completion of Basic Life Support (BLS).
High School Diploma, graduate of an AMA approved School of Radiology Technology. Must hold a current American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (A.R.R.T) registration. Must meet continuing education requirements as mandated by A.R.R.T. Must have minimum 1 year clinical experience. Must maintain completion of Basic Life Support (BLS). The assessment, care and treatment provided will take into consideration the specific are related needs of the patient. The Radiology Technologist is competent to care for neonates/infants, children, adolescents, adults and geriatric adults groups. Maintains competency's for other departments.
Employee is required to sit occasionally, stand and walk frequently. Employee must lift/carry a heavy (50lbs+) load occasionally. Employee may be required to lift over 100lbs with assistance. Employee is frequently required to bend, squat, crawl, knee, climb and lift waist to overhead. Employee is frequently required to reach forward and reach overhead. Employees are frequently exposed to fumes, radiation, electrical hazards, blood borne pathogens and CRT terminal.

The most significant of duties are included but this does not exclude occasional work assignments not mentioned or developmental duties.
Member of the UCC staff that interacts regularly with patients, physicians, families and visitors and a variety of nursing and ancillary personnel.
