Such activities include overseeing day-to-day personnel, order processing, inventory control, and transportation decisions. You will also be the point person for the training and development of your team, facility and equipment management, expense control, and site safety and security.

What You’ll Do
In the role of Distribution Center Manager, you will lead a team of DC associates in all general Distribution Center (DC) activities. Such activities include overseeing day-to-day personnel, order processing, inventory control, and transportation decisions. You will also be the point person for the training and development of your team, facility and equipment management, expense control, and site safety and security.
Responsibilities
- This is a highly visible role. The right individual must be comfortable working with both local and national sales teams in a time-sensitive, transactional work environment. Our ideal candidate is a confident, yet humble team player with a can-do attitude. Most importantly, you must have a proven track record to lead, train and develop people in a fast-paced environment.
- This position will lead a team of 40-50 DC Associates including Supervisors, Floor Leads, and an Assistant DC Manager in all necessary activities including hiring, motivating, evaluating, developing, and counseling with career development.
- This is a hands-on position. The Individual must be knowledgeable of material handling equipment (MHE) to include propane and electric fork trucks and order pickers. Moreover, you will be expected to lift up to 50 lbs. as you will be required to work alongside your team in satisfying the daily workload.
- Position may be “On Call” as needed for after hour emergency order fulfilment.
What You’ll Need:
- Bachelor’s Degree with focus on Supply Chain and/or Logistics or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 5-7 years of supervisory experience in a related high-volume distribution center environment to include inventory control, order fulfillment, incoming/outgoing movement of goods, negotiation of freight rates, export compliance of international shipments, and OSHA standards adherence and compliance.
- Sound business judgment grounded in quantitative, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills - must be detail oriented.
- Prior experience working closely with a sales team.
- Must be mechanically inclined enough to troubleshoot minor equipment issues of production equipment, machines and MHE.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Working knowledge of personal computers and proficiency with common business applications, including WMS, TMS, and Microsoft Office suite.
- Master’s in Business Administration (MBA)
- Experience in LEAN Six Sigma and 5S methodologies
- Military Service in a Leadership Role
